Did the blue cave and five island tour and had an amazing time! Everything is worth visiting and deffinitely a great value for the price! Even if you only have one day in Split, this is the thing to do! Really wonderful and perfectly organized!
Five Islands Tour which is also called Blue Cave Tour is the best excursion on our list. It combines the best locations of Hvar and Vis for the price of one. Stunning locations from Vis and most popular destinations from Hvar.
If you want all day adventure and you want to go on the best tour possible¸ with Five Islands Tour you can’t go wrong.
1) FIVE ISLANDS TOUR: BLUE CAVE
Our first destination is breathtaking natural phenomena and one of the most attractive locations on the Adriatic¸ situated on small island of Biševo¸ near Vis.
As sun’s rays penetrate through an underwater opening of the cave and reflect from the white bottom¸ they illuminate the cave blue. This game of light and reflection creates opportunity for some beautiful pictures and unforgettable experience.
Next to Hvar and Stiniva¸ it is one of the destinations you simply have to visit¸ otherwise you’ll be sorry. The pictures you take will be a happy memory to your Croatian adventure which you can show to your friends and family.
2) FIVE ISLANDS TOUR: STINIVA BEACH
Stiniva has been voted as the best beach in Europe by tourists for the year 2015. It is secluded beach on the island of Vis which was created when the dome of the cave collapsed. Now¸ what’s left is a pebble beach with crystal clear water, white sand at the bottom and a stunning clifftop backdrop.
Its appeal is largely due to its inaccessible¸ hidden and peaceful charm¸ combined with unusual features. Since there is no road to Stiniva¸ people on the beach are mainly tourists from boat excursion. However¸ due to its 5 m (16 feet) wide entrance¸ most speedboats anchor in front of the entrance.
Also¸ it is perfect spot for swimming¸ snorkeling¸ jumping off the cliffs¸ observing an amazing scenery¸ taking pictures and soaking up the atmosphere.
3) FIVE ISLANDS TOUR: GREEN CAVE
If one cave wasn’t enough¸ maybe two will be!? Unlike Blue Cave¸ Green Cave is more accomodating with its two large entrances. Its name also comes from sunlight and green colored reflections that bounce back and forth of the caves bottom.
Reflection results in stunning green illumination¸ thanks to green alge located at the rocky base of the cave’s entrance. Since Green Cave and its entrance are bigger¸ you stay on the speedboat from which you can jump in the water since swimming is not forbidden.
However¸ if there are too many boats then the skipper won’t allow you to get inside the water¸ due to safety reasons. You can also climb up and jump from the top¸ infront of the Cave.
4) FIVE ISLANDS TOUR: HELL ISLANDS
After these picturesque destinations¸ we’re off to beautiful Hell Islands. As tourism developed¸ so did the Hell Islands which became one of the more popular locations¸ especially Palmižana which is the most popular beach on these islands.
Hell islands always had plenty amazing beaches to pick from but on Palmižana you have several restaurants¸ lounge bars as well as botanical garden. This makes it a perfect holiday spot for those looking to relax¸ dine near the sandy beach or just to enjoy in summer parties.
5) FIVE ISLANDS TOUR: HVAR
Town of Hvar on the island of Hvar is the most popular destination among the mid Adriatic islands. Thanks to its turbulent history¸ great strategic location and warm mediterranean climate¸ it has become favorite tourist destination. It has something for everyone¸ not just the sea and nice beaches.
If you’re looking for archaeological sites and cultural monuments¸ then the oldest public theater in the world¸ cathedral of St.Stephen¸ Franciscan monastery¸ city lodge and Hektorovic palace¸ will keep you busy. However¸ number one attraction in the city is the old fortress¸ on the hill above the town¸ from which you have a beautiful panoramic view of Hvar and Hell islands. It takes only 15 minutes to the top¸ by foot¸ so don’t miss it.
On the other hand¸ if you’re looking for crazy house parties¸ fancy restaurants¸ small pubs or local taverns with Croatian music and homemade wine¸ you won’t need to look far. During summer¸ Hvar is known as the town that never sleeps.
BONUS LOCATION: BUDIKOVAC ISLAND
In case the weather and time served us well during the first part of the tour¸ we also stop on Budikovac Island for 30 minutes. It is beautiful turquoise lagoon perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Based on tour schedule¸ it comes after Green Cave and before Hell Islands. So you actually get six¸ instead five islands tour.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF THE TOUR: Since Hvar is our last destination before returning to Split¸ you can also go on the tour with us and then stay on the island. Basically¸ you get both¸ five islands excursion and transfer to Hvar with a speedboat without any additional cost.
